Discovering a Love for Sculpting

Here I am at age 11 standing next to my very first sculpture: a wise Native American chief/elder. My art teacher said I could make anything I wanted, and depicting the leadership of Native Tribes really spoke to me. I worked on the sculpture for several weeks, and I decided to paint it black after I fired it in the kiln.

Here is another sculpture that I was working on, some clay idea I was messing around with.
Ipad Illustration Designs
These two pieces I made in 9th Grade art class using my iPad. I used black and white because I found these colors made the most impact with optical illusions.

This is my comic book that I created in 8th grade as my final project, and it took me about a year to make from beginning to end, from storyboard to writing the story, to making the digital illustrations.

This is an unfinished piece that I was making to practice drawing anatomy and musculature.

Fire, water, earth, & wind: these are the four elements that are part of the show called Avatar: The Last Airbender. This show inspired me because I’ve practiced mixed martial arts, and I enjoy understanding how these art forms are all connected: Kung Fu, Karate, Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Shaolin…
Entrepreneurship Project
Portable Wifi Box
This is a piece I made for an Entrepreneurship project where we were studying product marketing, and our product that we developed was a Portable Wifi Box that you could take with you anywhere to get a wifi signal. Here we see the animals in the woods using their wifi signal to watch TV and sit on their phone.

I was bored during Covid, so I did a lot of YouTube Tutorials for drawing.

Here I used the skills I learned in a YouTube tutorial to create this piece.
My Poetry & Creative Writing Teacher
Standing with my Project Mentor, writing tutor, and friend Maxine. We worked together on developing my skills in creative writing and poetry, expanding my awareness of different styles and descriptives. For my 8th grade project, I chose to create a comic book, so I worked to build a storyboard to develop the plot. I also drew the accompanying illustrations, and I had a lot of fun exploring this new medium of comic books.
Performing Romeo & Juliet
I performed as Benvoleo in the play Romeo and Juliet with my 8th grade class. The whole 8th grade worked together to build and paint every set and prop. Through our collaborative efforts, we executed a really good performance, and I feel that one of my core skills is teamwork. I truly prefer to work in groups and work with other people.

Here I am playing the cello for my 8th grade classical music performance where I played Pachebel’s Canon in D. I chose to play the cello because my sister had also played the cello, and I really like the lower tone. I also like how I can sit down and it’s not right next to your ear! I can definitely see myself continuing to play instruments as I get older. My Waldorf school required all students to play an instrument and participate in our orchestra, and I think this allowed me to be a more well-rounded intellectual thinker.

      - Here I am with my friend Lasse, who I’ve known since 1st grade, and we still attend school together today. He played the Alto Violin, and we always had fun playing together. Nowadays we play a lot of ping pong, and we’ve gotten even closer over the years.
